New Grad Program

Our new graduate programs focus on repurposing and leveraging the work you’ve done in the classroom to provide effective client solutions. Here are a few programs currently in place:

Account Executive

Through our New Grad Program, you’ll gain the skills, experience, and competencies required to become a successful account executive. This two-year program provides training and development for all aspects of the sales process, including tools, systems, and partner and client-facing competencies. To prepare you for growth in the account executive role, this intensive program will help you become proficient at delivering our value proposition, understand how to position and sell our service portfolio, secure vendor certifications, and grow more knowledgeable about the broader technology marketplace.

Consulting Analyst Program (CAP)

A key differentiator to starting your IT consulting career with Datalink is the opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing business with established roots where candidates have immediate opportunities to work directly with clients and be a valuable team player from day one. During the Consulting Analyst Program, candidates will receive training, skills, and hands-on experience in client environments.

This multi-week program includes a minimum of two weeks led by IT consulting leadership, followed by two to three weeks of client shadowing experience. In-class training will provide networking opportunities as well as an understanding of technologies, methodology, offerings, working in remote teams, client communications, and expectations. Successful candidates are self-starters with technical and business aptitude who thrive in changing environments with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in management information systems (MIS), entrepreneurial studies, finance, and computer science.

Upon completion of the program, you’ll be able to:

  • Effectively deliver our value proposition, execute our go-to-market strategy, sell complex data center and cloud solutions, manage complex technology sales campaigns, and manage dynamic vendor / supplier relationships.
  • Understand and manage the sales process workflow.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with external clients, vendor partners, field partners, and internal teams.
  • Adhere to our core values.
  • Understand product and service offerings so you can identify opportunities with prospects and clients.
  • Assist maintenance renewal associates with reconciling maintenance contracts.
  • Transition to the account executive role by prospecting and qualifying opportunities.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technology discipline or four years of related industry experience in lieu of degree
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer hardware and related office software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on Excel
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Ability to multitask and establish priorities
  • Solid organization skills
  • Ability to work with a team to maintain strong internal and external communication
  • Ability to work more than a 40-hour workweek
  • Able to travel, not to exceed 20% of the time
